Buddies
I found inspiration for my Buddy collection from reading some Mr Men books and looking through the cast of creatures offered by Marvel as Ooshies and DK as Moshi Monsters.
These are smaller than my usual robot sculptures. They are meant to be companion buddies for people who want a tangible imaginary friend. The Buddy collection will be launched at the HIVE market in Bellerive and the Kingston Beach Handmade Market shortly.
The main body come from recycling timber from a Scandinavian armchair. arms are recycled copper pipe and the eyes vary between upholstery grommets and pick tack toe buttons. Hair is from old pencils or old brooms and brushes and feet from kids building blocks or abacus beads.
