Spec Heads - A safe and convenient way to store your glasses while you rest or sleep. ​

​These Spec Heads are made from Huon Pine.  Each Spec Head is an individual creation.  I start by selecting a piece of wood from my storeroom.  I handle it and inspect it until an idea comes to me on how to create a unique head from it.  Then I set about creating a balanced head with eyes and a way to rest glasses.  I paint the eyes using oil-based pastels and coat the surface with a matt fixative.

I have a passion for wood as a remarkable low energy, sustainable, renewable, recyclable natural material. I am committed to wood recycling, and believe that no wood should be going into land fill.  I rescue wood on a regular basis.
